JumpStart Courses

Hit the ground running in your upcoming math class!

Learn in a small group where you have the freedom and time to ask questions and learn from others besides just the teacher. 

Studies show that learning with others is more effective than learning on your own.

Students will practice explaining concepts and processes to each other. If you can explain something, you understand it; if you cannot explain it, you really do not get it. This is a very effective strategy to reinforce comprehension for the student learners and teachers alike. 

All courses will be delivered with online instruction via the Teachworks / Lessonspace platform, which makes it more flexible and possible for all with busy schedules. Location is not a factor, so students all over the US can receive the help they need to ensure their success.

Required materials: All students must have a camera, tablet, and a stylus to participate. If a student refuses to show themselves on camera, they will be asked to leave the session and a refund will not be given. The only exception is if someone is having technical issues. Also, students without a stylus will have great difficulty participating, so it is highly recommended.

An inexpensive stylus and tablet like this Wacom Tablet is sufficient if you do not have a regular tablet:

JumpStart Course in Algebra 1 / Beginning Algebra - Mondays 7 - 9 PM MST 

                       Dates: 7/14, 7/21, 7/28, 8/4

JumpStart Course in Algebra 2/ Intermediate or College Algebra - Tuesdays 7 - 9 PM MST

                        Dates: 7/15, 7/22, 7/29, 8/5

JumpStart Course in Precalculus / Trigonometry - Wednesdays 7 - 9 PM MST

                        Dates: 7/16, 7/23, 7/30, 8/6

JumpStart Course in Calculus I / Social Science Calculus - Thursdays 7 - 9 PM MST 

                        Dates: 7/17, 7/24, 7/31, 8/7

Each JumpStart Course costs $200 for all four sessions.  If a student does not attend one or more sessions, they will not be granted a refund of the missed portion. A recording will not be provided as some participants are not comfortable being recorded. If a student must miss a session, they can book an individual session with Jennifer for a discounted rate.
